Why Pilates helped me
I am recently an ex-professional dancer and find myself on a new journey helping others to maintain or discover their Beautiful Cores. Whether its being able to touch your toes, running the marathon or simply improving your day to day quality of life with great posture, I will help you define your inner most physical strengths.
I am a qualified STOTT Pilates Instructor with pre and postnatal certification. I personally started Pilates when I was 10 years old, as my dream was to become a professional dancer. Morning and night though my adolescence, I practised a series of exercises to help me meet the physical demands of life in the theatre in the hope of fulfilling my dream of later being on stage full time.
When I was 18 years old I was badly injured and Pilates became a lifeline in continuing down the road to a career in dance. Working really hard to meet the new goals of injury recovery and management, I was still able to pursue a long career as a dancer & choreographer working for 12 years around the world for some of the largest theatrical companies.
I now teach around London, private one to one sessions tailored exactly to your needs and at my own dance school - Timmins Academy of Dance in the West Midlands.
